Tank 2x & $carfaceSuave, “Aint Tryna Talk”
The newly released Plugg anthem "Aint Tryna Talk" is a raw, unapologetic, and intense track representing the rage of a generation overlooked through strong punch-in verses and fun adlibs. This instant feel-good classic is a collaborative single performed by Miami creative Tank 2x alongside the Cleveland lyricist $carfaceSuave. The result is an "unfiltered sonic journey that resonates with anyone who’s ever felt overlooked or underestimated." A soundtrack to rebellion while running it up & a testament to the phrase "Plug ain't dead".
$UAVE!, is a true musical talent who first emerged into the underground hip-hop scene with his 2021 debut album "Story of a Stryker", donning him the nickname "The Stryker". In both his tracks and communications, the man embodies a poet, beautifully using language to express his soul and creative essence. To experience his linguistic and poetic writing style, we highly recommend reading Suave's direct responses to our RSO interview questions further down the page, in addition to streaming his strong discography.
Born and raised in the concrete jungle of East Cleveland, Ohio, Suave always felt called to music as an escape from the harsh nature of his early life. He spent his upbringing developing his strong lyrical abilities in every way he could, "scribbling rhymes in a dimly lit apartment in the projects and smoky basements freestyling". The Stryker first landed on a mic in 2021 and has been dedicated to his craft with a plethora of album and single releases throughout the past few years.
This consistency and drive seep into the messages of his music and lyrics. Hustle and hunger represent Suave's mentality, and his hyperawareness allows him to see these qualities in himself, noting in our interview how vital it is to keep the flame of passion alive as he continues to grow and develop an audience. "Personal struggles, lost friends, and the hunger for recognition fueled my fire," he says. “The success has its shadows: the pressure to stay authentic, the fear of losing hunger. Still, I press on, and stay creative and versatile.”
To say Suave puts his full soul into his music would be an understatement. He uses his tracks as an opportunity to express his emotions, views, and pure energy. "My art isn’t just soundwaves; it’s a journey—a glimpse into my soul." The introverted artist tunes into a different mindset when on the stage and in the booth, likening it to "a superhero donning his cape". The man who is often quiet and reserved bursts into a vessel of transmuted rage and magic with his music.
He describes his experience thus far in the music industry as "a dance between authenticity and commercialism." Suave embraces the challenges of social media and networking in this underground space while staying true to his roots and creative intentions. This mindset has allowed him to develop fruitful connections and work alongside other passionate and creative visionaries in this community. Collaboration has been key to his evolution.
$carfaceSuave has notably connected with Tank 2x, most recently as the two released their collaborative track, "Aint Tryna Talk" on May 21, 2024. Tank 2x is a Miami musician and CEO of 2Life Entertainment. While he mainly performs over Pluggnb/Zaytoven style instrumentals, his diverse musical evolution categorizes his discography amongst a variety of genres. The multi-talented creative merged his passion for music and traditional art with his business knowledge to become a staple and keystone of the modern underground community.
Similar to Suave, Tank uses music and his lyrics as an outlet to express his emotions and process his mental health. A feeling of therapeutically using beats as an artistic confessional booth is evident in the work of both musicians.
What began as a traditional trap song over a plugg beat shifted throughout the creation process into a dynamic track that defies and transcends genres. Suave said about his collaboration with Tank, "Authenticity trumps trends. The more I peeled back layers, the more the music resonated. Also, collaboration matters. My boy Tank 2X, pushed me beyond comfort zones, and the result? Magic."
During my listens to the track and conversations with its creators, the keywords and theme were RAGE while maintaining the feel of a fun-turn-up single that focuses on getting money. Unlike the traditional correlations to rage music with heavy distortion and screaming dark vocals, this track takes a fun and brighter approach. Trap-centric lyrics portrayed through airly adlibs, punchy vocals, clean flows on verses, and an upbeat instrumental contribute to a feeling of controlled rage and success. Mentions of luxury and opulence make this a feel-good motivational track to inspire listeners to get on that same hustle and grind that Tank and Suave embody.
This stands as the perfect track to run up a bag while becoming the king or queen of your own rage, transcending that energy into royalty and art. It's a manifesto from the two and proof of a lived truth of "defiance against a world that tries to box us in.
But beyond rage, there’s resilience."
