Grimey!, “Money Sex Dreams 3” (Produced by LUCAMONTANA)
Grimey! Is a New Jersey musician and rapper based out of Bordentown, with a second home in the state’s capital, Trenton, NJ. Grimey! recently teamed up with German music producer LUCAMONTANA to create the third and final installment of the duo’s collaborative album series, “Money Sex Dreams”.
“Money Sex Dreams 3”, abbreviated as “MSD 3”, is an 11-track album, with each song’s conceptual & poetic lyrics being performed by Grimey!, over chilled-out, wavy, jazzy, lofi-style beats, exclusively produced by LUCAMONTANA himself.
Grimey! describes “All the MSD volumes (as) a mixture of chill vibes, intrusive thoughts, the come up, surviving in this everyday life, women, the grind, etc.”, saying, "You’ll have to listen and find out more…” The three-part series title refers to the core factors of life, Money, Sex, and Dreams, that Grimey! believes “we all chase… I feel like anybody from across the globe can relate to that… both men and women.”
Since releasing their initial “MSD” project in 2022, LUCA has become a “brother” to Grimey!. The two instantly saw potential in each other’s creativity and began their international connection with LUCA reaching out to Grimey! through Instagram. They discovered eachother shortly after the release of “Gospel Music Vol.1”, the Jersey rapper’s 3rd studio album that dropped on May 15th of 2022. This pair soon began the creative process for their first collab track, “Don’t Get Offended”.
Just a few months later on November 11th, 2022, “Don’t Get Offended”, along with 10 other original tracks from the duo, were released to streaming platforms as the first installment of “Money Sex Dreams”. Grimey! explains, “One song turned into many more and 3 projects, but it’s deeper than the music, that’s my brother from a white mother…”
Less than a year after dropping their first collaborative album, Grimey! and LUCAMONTANA dropped the album’s sequel, “Money Sex Dreams 2”, on June 30th, 2023. Mirroring MSD 1, this 2nd project also contains 11 exclusively produced tracks from LUCAMONTANA, filled with punched-in verses and solo vocal performances from Grimey!. He describes the team’s creation process saying, “My brother Luca sends me beats and I punch in, I guess I write it in my head and whatever comes out my mouth is what I’m feeling that day.” These tracks typically have a quick turnaround, “Whenever LUCA sends me a beat I send a full song back within 1 to 2 hours.”
The trilogy’s finale album, “Money Sex Dreams 3”, was released on October 11th, 2024, marking the end of an era between the two artists. In alignment with the tracklists of MSD 1 & 2, this project also contains the same amount of songs, symbolically standing at the number 11. In order, the tracklist begins with “Grown Folk Music”, ‘Keep it G”, “I’m Straight”, “Just Getting By”, “Feel Good”, “Declined”, “Paradise”, “DD”, “Outta Space”, “Grimey4L”, and concludes with “The Life We Livin’”, ending their 3 year “Money Sex Dreams” series rollout.
MSD 3’s tracklist marks two milestones in the MSD discography, with guest appearances found in both the lyrical performance and instrumental aspects for the 1st time in the series’ history. Houston-based producer SantanaLand took on the role of a co-producer for the album’s 8th track, “DD”. Also showcased on MSD 3 is the trilogy’s only guest vocal feature, with rapper Lil Xelly performing a verse on the 2:30 Track 6, titled “Declined".
While Grimey! Is unable to choose a single favorite from the latest project as they are all “hard as f***”, he acknowledges track 1, “Grown Folk Music”, along with the aforementioned 8th track, “DD”, as being “the most fun (to make).”
Three tracks from the “Money Sex Dreams” album series, MSD 3’s ”Paradise”, MSD 2’s “Shining”, and MSD 1’s “Show Me”, along with two more LUCAMONTANA produced tracks, “Angel Kiss” and “Sake & Bamboo”, from Grimey!’s 2024 “Midnight Gospel” album, were released alongside music videos, posted to the “Oxysphere” YouTube Channel. Oxysphere is a German-based record label and music collective, founded by LUCAMONTANA in 2023.
Zachillustrated, known online as @zachjosephillustration, is the mastermind behind the iconic hand-painted cover artworks of the ‘Money Sex Dreams” triology, along with the “Gospel Music” cover. The unique and high quality visuals provided by the Michigan-based painter may have been a determining factor in LUCA’s decision to give “Gospel Music” a chance back in 2022, opening the door for the vast MSD creations we know today.
In an exclusive interview with RSO Underground, Grimey! explains his upcoming plan to travel overseas and meet LUCAMONTANA in his home country of Germany, reflects on the origins and future of their musical relationship beyond MSD, and explains his humble inspirations for creating his music. “I don’t make music to ‘blow’ or for fame. I genuinely love making music. I’m happy with 100 plays or 1 million aslong as someone listens, even if that someone is just me.”

What project are you currently rolling out and what is the story behind it?
the project that just released is MSD 3 produced By my Brother LUCAMONTANA he also produced vol 1 and 2 he’s from Germany we connected through instagram he heard one of my older projects “Gospel Music” he seen my potential and vice versa and we decided to work it started from one song called “don’t get offended” after that it was a wrap one song turned into many more and 3 projects but it’s deeper then the music that’s my brother from a white mother 😂.

MSD means Money Sex Dreams I feel like anybody from across the globe can relate to that. It’s what we all chase both men and woman.
What influenced you to create this project?
I don’t make music to “blow” or for fame I genuinely love making music I’m happy with 100 plays or 1 million aslong as someone listens even if that someone is just me.
What is your typical writing process for tracks/ What made the creation process for this project unique?
I really don’t have a writing process my brother Luca sends me beats and I punch in , I guess I write it in my head and what ever comes out my mouth is what I’m feeling that day. Whenever he sends me a beat I send a full song back within 1 to 2 hours.
What emotions or lessons do you hope listeners take away from the project?
All the MSD volumes are a mixture of chill vibes , intrusive thoughts, the come up , surviving in this everyday life ,woman , the grind and etc you’ll have to listen and find out more
What is next in your creative journey?
And next for my creative journey is to travel to Germany and really lock in with Luca I know when we link we will be on top of the world

I really don’t have a favorite song on the tape they all are hard as fuck but the ones I had the most fun making were DD and Grown folk music for the most part I just roll up smoke and let my mind free
